Red Rock Boys 14-1

Cynthia Yim is joining the Red Rock family for the 2022-2023 season after spending the last ten years as a

coach with the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department running Recreational Volleyball Leagues and Programs.

Cynthia is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area and is a Graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep who led her team to the CIF State Championship Finals in her Junior and Senior year.

She received my Kinesiology degree from Cal State East Bay in 2018 and wanted to continue spreading knowledge to the youth and started coaching

She has a deep knowledge of the sport of volleyball, a competitive spirit, and a commitment to developing young athletes. She is excited to see where she can take her next team.

Jovani Lara

Red Rock Boys 14-1

My name is Jovani Lara and I am a former UC Davis Men's Volleyball player. I have played as a middle blocker throughout my career and for many years I was the shortest middle in college in the country (yes, I fact-checked every year).

I am also coaching JV Girls Volleyball at Gateway High School, and I cannot wait to be a part of the Red Rock teams and work with the amazing players in the club.

In my spare time, I like to play volleyball with friends or in groups such as SF Dynasty, Sac Attack, and others. When I am not having fun with volleyball I am working as a Project and Account Manager in the Commercial Landscape and Maintenance field working in the SF Peninsula. I take the lead on sites as small as residential buildings and as big as city parks and entire school districts.

Red Rock Teams

Red Rock Volleyball Club offers two types of teams. We have travel teams and regional teams.

Travel teams play in the NCVA power League with tournaments in the Bay Area and Sacramento area for most tournaments. Travel teams also play in a SoCal tournament in the summer. Travel teams also may attend qualifiers out of state such as Chicago and Florida.

Regional teams play in the NCVA Power League with tournaments in the Bay Area and Sacramento area for most tournaments. Regional teams also play in a SoCal tournament in the summer.
